Rahul Shah’s Story
Mr. Shah analyzes debt, equity, and equity-linked securities, emphasizing fundamental research and special situations at Daiwa. Before co-managing Daiwa’s proprietary portfolio, Rahul worked as a senior analyst at KBC AIM, the multi-strategy hedge fund where he helped navigate the credit crisis with long and short investments across the capital structure, and at Resolution Partners, the distressed hedge fund where he performed rigorous fundamental research to determine investments in special situations across various industries. Before Resolution, Rahul worked as a management consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton (now Strategy&), where he solved challenging strategic and operational problems. Mr. Shah’s industry experience includes stints at Dow Chemical and Reaction Engineering, where he used computational fluid dynamics and chemical kinetics modeling to reduce emissions and optimize furnace and reactor performance.
Mr. Shah is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a New York Society of Security Analysts member. He has a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, an M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Utah, and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
